February 28 to March 1, I had the opportunity to attend HackMIT’s MIT Blueprint 2026!
I compiled my videos and pictures into a vlog documenting my experiences throughout the event. You can watch it here: https://lnkd.in/eqRg3NPB
During the learnathon, I participated in a fast-paced web development course where I explored backend systems and database integration in modern web applications. Beyond the workshops, the event was filled with exciting activities: tech talks from MIT professors, delicious drinks from the MIT Latte Lab, and an organization fair!
During the hackathon, I worked with incredibly amazing teammates, Leran Tao and Ryan Lee, to build our project: Skill Trade. Inspired by our shared passion for mutual growth and learning, Skill Trade is a peer-based platform – matching what someone can teach and the skills they want to learn.
Leveraging our team’s diverse strengths, we divided responsibilities strategically across the stack. Ryan and I focused on the frontend development while Alan built the backend. I especially enjoyed applying my digital art background to design the UI/UX for the platform.
Beyond the hacking, the day was packed with fun activities including campus tours, competitive tetris, Mario Kart tournaments, karaoke, and more.
The entire experience was incredibly inspiring. Being surrounded by such a huge community of high school students who are just as passionate and excited to create also made the event even more meaningful. I was constantly impressed by the creativity and innovation behind many of the projects built.
Thank you HackMIT and the MIT Blueprint team for organizing such a thoughtfully run event and providing an unforgettable opportunity to learn, build, and connect. Thank you to my teammates for making it one of the best experiences. This is one I will treasure forever moving forward in STEM.
